    It's Been Too Long...

I know, I know...  I have been neglegent in my posting.  There has certainly been much to post about, but everyone knows I suck at time management.

    for now, a meager FYI:

I am playing a short, acoustic set of original songs with my guitarist James Capozzi
    TONIGHT, FRIDAY DEC. 1st
    a little after 7pm
@ Caffeine on Demonbreun St. (near the naked dancers in the circle, you know) in Nashville
    *NO COVER*

I would love to see your beautiful faces, yes, yours.
    Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
PS.  Kisses for all who show up {yes, even you, Shope} x.

    x's and o's

You know when you're ending a letter/ email/ text, and you want to show some love so you leave some x's and o's or maybe just x's...  well I'm wondering:

is it ok to just leave o's?  or is that insulting?  Because if I wouldn't normally kiss you upon departure in person, why should I kiss you when I sign my correspondence?  you just don't go around throwing kisses about.  They are special, and should be reserved for the special and endeared.  So, if I want to hug someone but I'm writing to them, is it just altogether silly to sign off with an o or two?  Because x's seem to be both traditional and trendy.  I think about this frequently and have finally taken the moment to voice the query.

This train of thought leads me to the topic of real in-person kisses.
They are to be reserved.  treasured. breathtaking.  breath-giving.  vonerable.  unexpected.  reciprocated (except in intended one-way circumstances).  communicative. expressive.  love. real.

and hugs- they make the world go around. O

    lots of love,

    Laura oo

sometimes you just have to eat alone.

its nice to be told that you are a breath of fresh air.  I want to be that to more people.  I don't want to get stale with those I'm so comfortably attached to.
Nor do I want to be helpless, uneasy with my own self, or desperate.

I'm learning how to be myself to myself.  It shouldn't be new.  I used to know how.  I've finally found myself in a state of fulfillment and restoration-- I now have to reaquaint myself with that me- that me that people smile on. that me that the Lord smiles on.

I am more content with the unknown than I  have ever, ever been.  New... and enchanting.

got achy bones, but its alright
i'll still dance by the pale moonlight
know i'll be back home real soon
along with that big golden moon

life took me down for a while
but love is bringing back my smile
these people just don't even know
how much they're helping me to grow

love that's old and love that's new
searches me,  and i've found you
no more clouds of careless grey
    the sky is beautiful today
